Oysters 201: A Taste of Place & Time (Fitler Square)

Class is at our Fitler Square shop, at 2131 Pine St, Philadelphia PA

One of the things that makes oysters so special is how they take on the flavor of the environment in which they're grown. In this class, we take a deep dive into learning about all the factors that can contribute to the nuances in an oyster's flavor.

Conditions like water temperature, farming method, and season all factor into an oyster's flavor, so it nearly goes without saying that the variance among even local oysters can be vast!

We'll sample a selection of oysters from different regions, walk through what makes an oyster taste the way it does, and at the end of class, do a blind taste-test to try out our newly learned skills.

This class can stand on its own, or is great as a primer for what you'll learn in OYSTERS 202: PAIRING FLAVORS LIKE A PRO.
