Oysters 101: Shucking, Selection, and Serving (Fitler Square)
Oyster Shucking 101 Class
This class is located at 2131 Pine St at our Fitler Square location.
So you love eating oysters, and you're ready to start shucking at home – but you don't know where to start. How do you choose the right ones? How do you get them open? Where do they come from? How do you tell if they're ok to eat? What time of year is best?
Well, this is the class for you. Learn shucking tips and tricks, and dip your toe into the basics of how oysters are grown and why they taste the way they do.
You'll go home with half a dozen oysters per person, the skills you need to shuck on your own, and a whole new appreciation for this enigmatic shellfish.
During class, you also get 5% off of everything in the shop. We have everything you need to get started, including oyster knives, shucking towels, and our favorite accoutrements like our house Mignonettes made by Fishtown Pickle Project, Poi Dog's Chili Peppah Water, Yuzu Kosho, and a selection of caviars.
Please note: Select pickup (not local delivery) when ordering.
